Severn7 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Has anyone else been moved from FMS6 to FMS with any success? At this point (nearly 2 weeks in and multiple support tickets), we still can't add anything new to the system (invoice, purchase orders etc), the reports from FMS6 and FMS turn up different numbers and it is incredibly slow. We've asked to be reverted back to FMS6 until they sort the issues out, but they appear to be ignoring us at the moment.
Severn7 Posted March 10 Author Posted March 10 Just in case anyone is interested, they have agreed to revert us back to FMS6. The system is clearly not ready for public use just yet. I'm appalled that they thrust it upon us with such short notice and took away all functionality from FMS6 except for reporting. We've got very unhappy finance teams with loads of work now to catch up. Grrr. 2
SIMS_Customer_Support Posted March 12 Posted March 12 @Severn7 I have just sent you a DM. Many thanks Sally
BKGarry Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I would be interested to hear if anyone else has any experience of this, as we have been notified that this upgrade will be coming to us shortly.
Chenderit Posted March 12 Posted March 12 We received the following email yesterday regarding our migration scheduled for next week. Quote Hi, We’re writing to let you know that your planned move to FMS, scheduled for dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm, will not be going ahead as planned. As part of our ongoing rollout from FMS6 to FMS, we are refining elements of the migration process to ensure it is as smooth and frictionless as possible for schools. We will be in contact within the next few weeks to re-schedule another date directly for you. Taking this additional time allows us to strengthen the experience and ensure everything is set up correctly from day one. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we continue to enhance the migration process. Our goal is to provide your school with a seamless transition to FMS and the full benefits of the new system. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact me directly on <Email Redacted>. Kind regards, <Name Redacted> Project and Operations Manager
Severn7 Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 Well, we are still waiting for a resolution on this. No news or timescale on reverting back to FMS6, and more importantly, STILL no working financial system. Really poor show.
Ratcliffepg Posted March 16 Posted March 16 We just in the process of moving away.... hoping to avoid this....
SIMS_Customer_Support Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Hi @Severn7 We have sent you a PM requesting the school identity so we can progress this as we are unable to match you to a school. Kind regards, Customer Support Team ParentPay Group
Severn7 Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 Thanks @SIMS_Customer_Support we are now back on FMS6 and just trying to put right the damage now via normal support tickets.
Severn7 Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 @Ratcliffepg hopefully you escape in time. There are some decisions like that ahead of us.
Jobos Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Has this fiasco been resolved as we've had the email to move over to FMS Connected?
BKGarry Posted June 4 Posted June 4 I was trying to explain to our existing Finance Manager and the New one, who is in for a 2 month handover, that I am not convinced that "New" FMS is going to work for us, as we do not have a SIMS license therefore we have no way of provisioning the SIMS Connected accounts. The current Finance Manager is like, we cannot be the only school where that is going to be an issue..... I am not so convinced.
Ratcliffepg Posted June 4 Posted June 4 I am waiting for them to remote in today... as we still keep finding issues since move to the same FMS in a new place.... LOL

It's now a two stage process as the new FMS has been pulled until probably September. By moving to Connected first, it will make the final switchover simpler for Parent Pay, plus I'm pretty sure the move is a mandatory stipulation with the license for FMS to become centrally hosted. 4 hours ago, BKGarry said: The current Finance Manager is like, we cannot be the only school where that is going to be an issue. No, you're not alone, there are a large number of LEA schools using FMS only as they've move away from SIMS. 1

Well our LEA Finance already supports Bromcom Finance and are about to officially support Arbor Finance, as I would leave the decision to the Finance Team, I may need to put some persuasion tactics in place.
Jobos Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Reading thought the guides Parent Pay sent, they want a number of .exe white listing through the firewall so can be downloaded as and when required but I'm having trouble seeing what domains need white listing. This is the guide they gave me https://docs.beyondtrust.com/rs/docs/on-prem-network#ports-and-firewalls We have a standard setup using the Sophos XG so port 80 and 443 are already open outbound but downloading .exe, .msi etc are blocked unless the domain is whitelisted.
