Enid Blyton is heading to the big screen. I read a lot of her books as a kid but mainly those aimed at a slightly older market, so never read these. In some quarters they're held as an early example of a multiverse

This one scares me a little. I'm definitely of the age where I remember this book vividly and must have read it time and time again. Enid Blyton had a very specific way of writing which made your imagination do all the visualisation work for you, with only a few hints from the book covers and illustrations, and the trailers seem to be so far away from that I worry about a "ruined childhood experience".

 

Not that it's easy - LOTR managed to do it really well, the Hobbit less so. Charlie & the chocolate factory, both Wilder and Depp weren't too bad. The Witches was good (haven't seen the newer version so no comment there).

Will certainly still watch it, fingers crossed!

 

Would love to see an adaption of some semi-autobiographical stuff like Boy and Going Solo from Roald Dahl.
