Hi,

We’ve recently moved over to using Arbor. When supply staff arrive for the day, we create their accounts in Arbor and they’re given their own username and password. Is there a simple way for them to sign in using Office 365, similar to how staff do? How are others schools managing this?

Thanks

We have 3 Supply teacher records within Arbor, that are exempt from School Workforce Census, these link to 3 Supply Teacher user accounts, which can only login within school (using conditional access) and they use them in school to log into Arbor and use 365 etc.

You just have to make sure that the supply accounts have the Office 365/AD Account emails in their Primary Work email field, and then they can login with 365

Irrespective of MIS (we did this on Bromcom) - this method from BKGarry is the way to go.

We had 10 accounts available - they had a random password set every night and a script to email the receptionist the usernames and passwords for the day.
This also gave them temporary guest Wifi access as well as access to all other IT systems of relevance.

IT Support didn't have to lift a finger after setting up the accounts and the scripts.

Supply teachers/visitors don't have time in the day to hang around the IT office waiting for access or for someone to come down and reassure the techs that they are in fact authorised to get an account. Reception/Cover Manager/HR should be controlling the access as they know who they've hired.

As @BKGarry described, though we went further and pre-enabled the Arbor Account / MFA and blocked Arbor password-reset emails too. (as per my post below)

Thanks for all the answers.

Just one more question please. When we set cover, it automatically has the cover staff lessons on the left. Can we still use and link it to a supply user for example if its attached to the supply email? They can also see the cover work on the documents to the right hand side.

Thanks

Using a Supply Account in Arbor with a Supply Logon shouldn't affect any functionality just the name of the account you are assigning the cover lessons to
