UniFi Guest - who's authenticated

It's easy to see who's connected to a network on UniFi, however I have a query about the guest using the built in captive portal.

I believe it shows everyone connecting to the Guest network, but is it possible to show who is actually authenticated? I need to be able to see who's actually using it rather than just connecting automatically to an open network and not authenticated.

Try insights -> hotspot -> guests or /manage/default/insights/hotspot/guests after your server address.

Insights no longer has that information, it's updated so it's only threats in that section

 

 

Aha, found it! There's a "hotspot" tab which only shows as an icon top left and gives you the auth method there

Does an 'open' guest network comply with the 'Meeting digital and technology standards in schools and colleges', as it specifies "Regular and guest users should be set up with appropriate authorisation and authentication methods."

Fully open, absolutely not. 

In our case it's open only to allow the captive portal which provides a daily changing password, and we use a form to log who has access and when which covers the latter bit

And you use the UniFi built in captive portal. So you are looking for those that have joined the open WiFi network, but not yet authenticated (and so are not able to browse to the internet). What bit of UniFi kit provides that and how are you finding it?

That's just standard unifi console (in our case running on a cloud key). We were only looking for those that have authenticated so we can ensure the forms are being used correctly  We can see those connecting to it now but not authenticating but that's not of any real concern.
