AaronHudson Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I'm currently looking for anyone who would be interested in working odd days as an ICT consultant for an education company based in Birmingham. It would involve travelling to schools nationwide (expenses covered) and consulting on their ICT needs and selling in further services, such as bespoke software and web development we can offer. Please let me know (PM preferably) if you'd be interested and talk about rates etc. Thanks, Aaron
Hightower Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 How many days per week? Company car? etc etc
AaronHudson Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 It'd be sort of as and when rather than set days, this isn't a position in the company rather to represent us. We'd expect you to be self-employed but all expenses would be covered.
Hightower Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 What kind of hours? through 9-5 or weekends and evenings?
AaronHudson Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 Again, totally dependant on what the school wants. Generally a school day etc. We generally don't bother with half days alone, but sometimes could be 1 and a half days or 2 and a half days etc.
Hightower Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Ok, cheers Aaron. No good for me but cheers anyways.
powdarrmonkey Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I'll happily do saturdays or evenings, but not school days I'm afraid..
torledo Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I'll happily do saturdays or evenings, but not school days I'm afraid.. wouldn't we all.
EduTech Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 If only i had a bit more experience, i would do it.. but think this is a little out my reach at the moment shame.. love challenges! lol
AaronHudson Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 Yeah sorry it has to be school days. Thank you to everyone who's PM'd me - I'm just going to go through them all... Aaron
Kitkatninja Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 The school may hire us out, if that's any good to you I'll ask -ken

GrumbleDook Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 A number of members are unlikely to be able to take time out of work to have a second job such as this consultancy work. However, some may be released by the school to do the consultancy if you pay the school for their time rather than pay them directly. This is how it worked with me and the Council for the last 12 months ... and now I am on a full-time release / secondment for the next twelve months (so could be released again to do this sort of work!) HTH
