Edu-IT Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I'm looking to get Linux, PHP and MySQL installed on a server. I've not got the knowledge myself to do this so I'm wondering if anyone here is interested? PM me what you'll charge.
dancingdruid Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 If you use Ubuntu server it's easy as pie. Walks you through if you know what all your settings are to be. You may have problems maintaining a system if you have zero knowledge of it though - I'd recommend installing yourself and learning the basics (it isn't hard at all).

Edu-IT Posted September 4, 2008 Author Posted September 4, 2008 I've installed vB but the time is wrong, regardless of the settings, so I think the server time is incorrect. Seems to be when I use SSH. Can someone advise me on how to change the server time? I used the date command but that doesn't seem to have fixed the vB problem so I think it may be something to do with the time zone.

They're very good, Only had downtime with them once and I had an email as soon as it happened, and another one as soon as it came back up. Very Efficient. Ubuntu is dead easy to use, its like Debian with a few friendly changes. Try grab a live cd and play with it on a local machine with a gui and you'll pick it up in NO time
