I just want to leave this image here. Who releases a seasonal update on the evening of the first day back after half-term and makes the update no auto-apply so has to be triggered from logging in on a Tuesday morning and then end users being end users dont have a clue what to do or whats going on so reboot the PC in the middle of the update.

WELL DONE ESS !

We are going into procurement as a trust for MIS so we'll have to see what comes out of it, we're still on half term here so I'm going to hold off deploying Autumn for a couple of weeks. I hate SIMS updates, Solus invariably decides to kamikazie itself on a variety of machines so they never update, or we have staff interrupting the update, plus all of the other little utilities that depend on SIMS being up to date stop working... headaches galore without fail.

Having the end user trigger the update when logging into Sims and the most baffling and stupid decision of them all.

The users hit no, client doesn't update, incompatible database.

ESS drive me nuts...

When did they change that?! Solus should be checking in to see if there's updates available, at least that is how I thought it worked. The whole thing drives me to complete distraction.

Not a clue, previously we have had it auto deploy but this time it was triggered by people logging in and being prompted if they wanted to update or not. The fact that it asks you but then doesn't work if you hit no because the DB is already upgraded is just stupid.
