LOUD Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Server 2003 We have stopped backing up onto tapes and purchased 3 removable hard drives. Label "Backup Dk 1" "Backup DK 2" & "Backup Dk 3" Currently having to manual change the drive letter of the hard drive to drive z:\ I was hoping there is a script that will change the drive letter from D:\ to Z:\ that will run before backup starts. Or a script that will assign a certain drive letter because of the drives name.
mac_shinobi Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 USB drive letter manager - USBDLM as per the title for usb drives ( so not sure how you have your external drives connected )
LOUD Posted August 28, 2008 Author Posted August 28, 2008 USB connection. Every day i just swap the drives over.
FN-GM Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Just assign the drives the same letter in disk management. Once you put plug is back in it will use the same letter again.
