24H2 breaking devices

Hi, we have about 500 Dell 3150 that had 24H2 installed over the summer and they’re crashing a hell of a lot.

 

24H2 is on all the other desktops, and different laptops, but these specific devices seem to be struggling the most.

 

They’re domain joined and when a user logs on, after approx 5 seconds after the desktop appears the screen goes black with just the cursor showing.  CTRL - ALT - DEL and run explorer again recovers the desktop, but the issue will keep occurring.  We have followed all sorts of attempted solutions online to get his fixed with no joy. Dell drivers are up to date and Dell support doesn’t know what the issue is.

 

22/23H2 works fine but 24 doesn’t and neither does 25.

 

Has anyone come across this at all and could offer some info?

Does a local login do the same thing? Are they deployed with something like MEMCM? If so, what does a vanilla Windows install do?

yes, local login does the same.

 

build has been done with MDT but also this has been happening when built from UBB too.

Have you tried placing a device in an OU with no GPO's applied?

 

You mention drivers - are the BIOS fully up to date?

Also, if you have last years’s build available, what happens if you redeploy than to a few machines? If that is still good, what happens if you do a windows update to 24h2?

Not using Senso are you?  We're having very similar issues and apparently there's a bug with Senso V1 that is causing this according to their Technical Support, I've also seen it mentioned elsewhere on this forum.

 

We're running 24H2/25H2.

We do have senso so I’ll report the issue to them.  Cheers
