Hi,

I've inherited a smoothwall at my new school so having to relearn stuff from years ago

One thing I've found is that alot of the users are in the unauthenticated ip. We use AD and the unified client on all the devices. We are Vlanned up to our eyes and all the subnets are set. I'm unravelling how is all been set up at the moment.

Sometimes the block page has the SSL logon and other times not. Very confusing.

Anything obvious I need to check?

All the directory service are green... And the devices are intuned

You should talk to your Smoothwall contact, to get a review of your setup.

If all your clients use unified client, you can turn off the local web filter.

Your Smoothwall is probably currently set up for BYOD with login requirements...

There are several different options such as Secret knock, IDex Directory, Azure AD and more.

So the best thing is if a technician looks at your setup and then suggests some options...
