Installed some U7-LR (Wi-Fi 7 Long Range - Unifi) they work well.

The science block is sub optimal has limited ethernet and is remote to the rest of the school (separate building) I've had 2 areas with weak and basically no internet...  I've swapped the Unifi HD NANO's (Wi-Fi5) with the new Wi-Fi 7 Long Range APs, I was sceptical but they've improved the coverage to good and mediocre! Which doesn't sound like an endorsement but it really is!  The prep room is filled with crap miles from any ethernet and had a certain spot the laptops had too be.. Now they can bench 40mbps anywhere on speed test (not great but stable and usable!)

 

So as they are only £120 each AND they can use the HD Nano fittings this was a quick, cheap and better upgrade.

 

I only recently learned that Wi-Fi 5 is a 5Ghz only technology so the 2.4Ghz is uses the older Wi-Fi4 standard (the n standard! you know the 30 pin connector of wi-fi) and the poor areas were on of course 2.4Ghz...

Nice! I have mostly seen people ripping on the U7-LR due to its lack of 6Ghz but thats home users mostly where they have tight control of devices. I had not seen many with real world use.

Just be careful with the U7 firmware versions as there has been a lot of firmware issues with wifi performance (not updating) changing drastically between versions but I think UI have finally got that sorted now.

We're using U7 XGS's, only for a couple of buildings and doing the job so far! We have a whole new office building soon so will be using them

I have 6e (6ghz) at home for VR, you can block it with a sheet of paper.  I can't see a practical use for it in the school, so this is why I didn't care at all!  (but it is fast)

 

Also the In-wall IW Wi-Fi 7s are really useful for quick neat install.. I made a video on the quick install!

Thats also before you get very sticky devices when they see 6Ghz and really dont want to roam down to 5Ghz (looks at apple..)

I wouldn't want to roll out the lites across a campus - As above it doesn't have 6ghz, MLO, zero wait DFS or MultiGB (DFE requirement)

They serve a purpose for low use areas but they're very underpowered.
