MYK-IT Posted June 19, 2025 Posted June 19, 2025 Hi, With no involvement to date, been informed that our Finance Dept are changing their finance system (from Correro) to Iris Financials and it is a cloud-based solution(???)... However, since been given instructions to setup RDP access in readiness... 🤨 Not quite cloud-based then, more like 'cloud-based' SIMS 🤪 Anyway, just wondered if anyone else is using Iris Financials and can give any hints, or insights? (besides having to whitelist RDP program for Finance Computers!) Thanks,
Alis_Klar Posted June 23, 2025 Posted June 23, 2025 We've had it for a few years. Not got involved other than creating RDP link on desktops. I will say certain elements of the system are extremely antiquated just like SIMS. The odd thing is they have a fully cloud based web interface but not all functions are possible with that. It mainly used by heads to authorise orders etc. 1
Planehazza Posted July 17, 2025 Posted July 17, 2025 As above, there's a link you need to deploy to desktops, and staff just run that and sign in with the PSFCloud accounts. https://help-iris.co.uk/education/financialsv6/cloud/downloading-rdp-shortcut.htm We're, however, having a mare getting it to work on W11 24H2 devices. Spent days working on it, and thus far I've pinned it down to domain joined PCs not working, depsite the computer objects being isolated from all GPOs.
leegcvcc Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 We are looking at this too, from being on-premise to going to their hosted solution On 17/07/2025 at 10:13, Planehazza said: As above, there's a link you need to deploy to desktops, and staff just run that and sign in with the PSFCloud accounts. https://help-iris.co.uk/education/financialsv6/cloud/downloading-rdp-shortcut.htm We're, however, having a mare getting it to work on W11 24H2 devices. Did you get anywhere with this bearing in mind it was 2 months ago now. Hopefully you have 🤞
MYK-IT Posted September 25, 2025 Author Posted September 25, 2025 (edited) We've RDP setup on finance dept. computers - but certainly no fan of the software in general (bit like SIMS.net being cloud, but not really...) In addition, not impressed by their Tech Support - appears when emails are sent out (e.g. orders, BACS) they are sent via their servers (masquerading using your email) so of course they are failing DMARC. Only through own research, apparently using SENDGRID. So, I've asked them as to what DNS / TXT etc settings I need to configure (to authorise) and it's like no one else has ever asked, or queried this before! 🤦♂️ Of course, none of this was brought up as pre-requisites during on-boarding. RobFuller Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 It took them two weeks to share all the relevant DNS entries with us when I was implementing DMARC. Definitely get this in advance of the system going live.
