Hi all

Is it possible for Jamf school to map a network drive automatically when a student logs on?

I have been following this guide but can't seem to get it to work...

https://learn.jamf.com/en-US/bundle/jamf-school-documentation/page/Network_Drive.html

Has anybody achieved this?

Basically we have a group of student who take the music course. I want them in an AD group and ideally have a network share mapped on the Mac when they log in, if they fall under that AD group.

Thanks

In theory. In practice, in MacOS 15, I couldn’t get it to work properly. I had to use Network Share Mounter and some additional profile gubbins (NSM has the profile extensions available, then I built a second profile package and imported it into JAMF) to even begin to get it to work. Even then, it sometimes only works on second logon.

Not sure about AD group membership for that though. You’d need to pull that across into JAMF.

What Music apps are being used as many of them will not work if directly using them with a networked home share
