EssentialRug Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 Hi, We are a Intune environment, fully AADJ and have been trialling updating Windows 10 Devices to Windows 11 using the update rings in Intune. We set a number of devices to update using the setting 'Upgrade Windows 10 devices to Latest Windows 11 release'. This seemed to work for the few devices that we selected, but then after having selected all devices in our tenant it seems some are just refusing to get the update. We added all devices maybe a month ago and still the update is not getting pushed to devices set up exactly the same/same model/same Windows edition etc as the ones that have. Any ideas why this may be the case? Really don't fancy having to go and physically update each device that hasn't got the update. Thanks!
TheHyperTechie Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 Probably a silly reply, but have you checked under endpoint analytics to make sure the computer(s) shows they are actually eligible to upgrade (e.g TPM enabled). 1

No silly replies at all at this point! Yep, all the devices we are having trouble with show that they are capable:
foofighterjim Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 Did you select the option of "All Devices" or just a group that contains all of your devices? I tend to refrain from using the former. 1
andy_nic Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 i do mine using the Feature updates tab, not the update rings tab, once assigned to the group takes a day for the update to appear. 1

andy_nic Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 Noticed your using 24H2, does it still not work if you use 23H2? As i have a lot of devices on site, which install 24h2 get to 100% in Windows updates settings then the updates just disappears goes back to check for updates like it was never there. 1

Thanks for this...have amended to 23H2 and will report back in a few days!

Looking like going straight from Windows 10 to 24H2 was causing us the issue! We are seeing the devices successfully find and update to 23H2. Thanks so much for this, saved us a headache!

Glad it fix it for you. 24H2 is a odd update only 2 device in my school have taken the update, other just find it, try to install and disappear and these are device which some are less than a year old, full up to date with current drivers, Dell update command or Lenovo Vantage
