CAM Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Deadline is looming... What have you done regarding students you couldn't retrieve the GCSE grades for? I have some with missing grades and we haven't been able to contact them or retrieve their grades so I can't even submit the census. Thanks DfE!
mark80 Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I used their ULN on the Learner Record service, i only had about 30 so i just looked them up. It is their best English between their Literature & Language Those that still havent achieved a C i also added them to a resit group in SIMS Course Manager so it appeared as a learning aim so we will get funding M
CAM Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I'm down to one and they aren't on the LRS. Tried all avenues of contact, no luck. EDIT - Just as I type that, someone comes through with the grade! Still a concern for any other struggling schools though!
jrma91 Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 We've been screwed over by this, we have one student who has come over from another country for year 12 & 13 but obviously doesn't have any GCSE grades! Don't know what we are going to do about her!
CAM Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Check the EFA funding requirements. If they are eligible, you can declare exemption for foreign students (I don't have any eligible students so check first!).
NormalDistribution Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 If the student has grades in their previous country you can use NARIC to ascertain the GCSE equivalency.
tombry Posted October 16, 2015 Author Posted October 16, 2015 I had a foreign student - she was home schooled in Texas (as an American that makes me cringe a bit) - she's quite smart though. We have her sitting Maths and English GCSEs this November, Marked both as not yet attained, had no issue.
