Reporting - anyone tried matrep?

I'm still looking for the holy grail to ease my end of year reporting nightmares (which will start again after Easter)

 

I've been looking at this, and it does tick most boxes, but I've got a niggling doubt about it. I just wondered if anyone had any experiences, good or bad, to share.

Depends how much they are going to charge? We use Profiles in SIMs which does what we want, and for external access we use Bromcomms Teachers Web Folder. The other program I have seen, which works OK, but a bit snigly to setup is Aim High, does the job :-)

It's not very expensive, it's £1 per student for the first 200, and then 50p per student after that.

I haven't used matrep but did use Aim High for a few years and as @BKGarry says is a bit fiddly to setup but works reasonably well you can also if you have the yearly support contract with them get them to design some reports that will do some analysis of the data for you and provide instant analysis for staff here. We use SIMs reports here and seems to work ok just requires our MIS Officer, Exams Officer (who is charge of reports) and myself communicating well when things change so we make sure the changes feed through, we have also now stopped printing all but final report and just displaying the others on Parental Portal Insight for Parents, Staff and Students to view.

We do very much the same as Steven. All reports are done using SIMS AM with text comments. Only the annual main report is printed, which is quite a saving as all grades and behaviour are colour coded. For the rest parents are sent an email when the most recent reports is available to view online using TASC Insight. We do print copies for those without accounts for Insight but have found that around 20% of parents do not use it and we are not sure how to get over this.
