Activation Issues

I have a fleet of laptops running Windows 11, and either a BIOS update or Windows update causes them to all of a sudden show up as unactivated with the "Activate Windows" watermark. They were all activated during deployment with a MAK key. That key is still valid. How can I "reactivate" these without haivng to touch each and every laptop? Would it make sense to try to convert my MAK to a KMS?

If these laptops are on your internal network maybe you could use EMCO Remote Installer to push your activation key out using a batch file. Maybe something like this:

 

cscript.exe "%Systemroot%\system32\slmgr.vbs" -ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

cscript.exe "%Systemroot%\system32\slmgr.vbs" /ato

As long as the machines connected to the network you can remotely deploy the MAK key and reactivate them.

Probably be better to deploy KMS.  Everytime you activate a MAK key it burns an activation from your total allows activation account.,

The MAK keys should automatically try to reactivate if they can locate the Internet If the machines are not on the Internet, VAMT would work.

KMS will locate your Internal Activation server and automatically reactivate teh machines if they become deactivated and they can be activated multiple times without worrying about running out of activations.

We have this problem too with MAK keys
