kennysarmy Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Suddenly from today no one is able to hear us if we're using the Teams website, but it's fine using the full app. Anyone had anything similar? Not sure where to look as it's site wide, not just webcam or user or device specific - hoping it's a Microsoft issue !
NegativeKillDeath Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 All flavours of browser? Anything pushed out recently to control Windows privacy settings for microphone?
kennysarmy Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 All flavours of browser? Anything pushed out recently to control Windows privacy settings for microphone? Yes both Chrome & Edge. No, no policy changes Just tested Zoom internally and Microphone built in to webcams working fine. It just appears to be affecting browser based Teams meetings as far as we can tell
kennysarmy Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 Just did test call browser (teams) to browser (teams) - MIC not working Test call using Teams App to Teams APP - MIC working fine. Both calls with admins logged on, double checked all permissions etc
chaplic Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Have you looked at the site permissions (especially if there is one for zoom) buried in the browser config settings. Mic wont necessarily just be allowed
dapaulio Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Have you looked at the site permissions (especially if there is one for zoom) buried in the browser config settings. Mic wont necessarily just be allowed first thing that jumps to my mind is this … browser permissions to the microphone. There are two or three prompts when a user uses team or zoom on web.
Steve21 Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 (edited) It's probably the Microsoft sided issue. Found a few instances of it earlier this week and after searching the other day there's a MS ticket tracking resolution, which was updated today and apparently it got fixed earlier: Title: Users can’t utilize voice chat in calls and meetings using the Microsoft Teams web client User impact: Users couldn't utilize voice chat in calls and meetings using the Microsoft Teams web client. More info: Users could hear others but couldn't be heard by other users in the Microsoft Teams web client when using the Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome web browsers. Users could be heard when utilizing the Microsoft Teams mobile app. Final status: We've further determined that the recent service update was a security update that disrupted the audio pipeline because it relied on the noise suppression feature that was in a non-compliant state. We've updated the noise suppression feature to make it compliant and confirmed that the security update is no longer disrupting the audio pipeline, remediating impact. Scope of impact: Your organization was affected by this event, and any user attempting to utilize voice chat in a call or meeting using the Microsoft Teams web client through Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome was impacted. Start time: Friday, December 6, 2024, at 8:44 PM UTC End time: Friday, December 13, 2024, at 2:52 PM UTC Root cause: A security update disrupted the audio pipeline because it relied on the noise suppression feature that was in a non-compliant state, resulting in impact. Next steps: We're reviewing our service update validation procedure to detect and prevent similar service reliance issues in the future. Steve Edited December 14, 2024 by Steve21 1
jrichards02 Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 This is still going on for us. We've found it's happening on anything based on Chromium, so FireFox is not affected. 1
