kennysarmy Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Quick question: Do you allow your students to download ZIP files from the internet?
JRA Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 No. (Character requirement mandates I change the answer to a longer one. So I am adding supplementary information here. I'll change my answer to "No we don't.") 1
psydii Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 (edited) We don't stop them, but there are up to five levels of automated review. LGfL Netsweeper, SmartScreen, Defender, and Defender ATP. Furthermore Microsoft Purview Compliance is increasing in the mix depending on what is done with the file after it is downloaded. Sorry, six levels. Applocker might have a view on what happens after a zip file is opened. Edited December 13, 2024 by psydii
ITGURU Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 no, but if staff need to create ZIP files for sharing, we have 1 central folder which allows ZIP files. Blocked everywhere else.
