Bulk printing with ExamWritePad

Hi all,

 

I am pretty new to the world of IT and I am trying to work out how to use the Commandline Printing feature of ExamWritePad.

 

I want to bulk print a folder containing 11 .EXAMTEXT files, the process I go through is:

Open CMD
CD C:\Program Files\ExamWritePad
.\CommandlinePrinting.exe /FOLDER:"C:\temp\FILES" /PRINT:"default" /COPIES:"1"
Hit enter

 

 

Using this process it goes to the next line and doesn't print (Or in this instance, the papercut prompt doesn't show). The default printer is FollowMe using Papercut, I have attempted to also use /PRINT:"\\PRINTSERVER\The printer I want".

 

Could Papercut be causing the issue or am I doing something completely stupid? I have only been here for 4 months, so I am unsure if there is a setting in the config that could prevent me from using Commandline Printing?

Change the file format to .docx and see if that helps. Changing the format allows you to open the files in Word.

Do you need all those quotes?!??! If you have copy pasted those quotes into cmd then try manually typing the quotes if needed. Unless any part of the cmd has spaces in I can’t see you needing quotes(but I also could be wrong here)

 

You could be right with papercut may be a hurdle? Do you have accounts setup?

 

Is the account your printing from set to print to a shared account?

 

I would start by setting up direct printer then try printing again. At least you can narrow down whether it papercut or not.

 

However You mention when you hit enter you just carriage return down. Does it not exit out of the cmd so the c:\users\… shows for the next cmd.

 

This would suggest a open cmd that it is expecting a variable input intentional or not referring back to my quotes above
