MDT Deploying Applications Remotly from a server to desktops

Morning All

 

I am after some advice if possible, We use Microsoft Deployment Toolkit to build our computers and deploy applications running the lighttouch.vbs and running the deploy applications using the applications task sequence. this works well but i have to either run the vbs file or do a f12 to deploy any additional applications on each computer.

 

I was wondering if anyone has found or uses a deployment method or separate app that can use MDT to install them remotely on many computers at once.

I use PDQ to do it all as part of the MDT task sequence

I heavily use MDT for system imaging - don't use it so much for app deployment after that though (other than deploying apps with the image, Anti virus, office etc..)

 

If I did use it for app deployment I'd do the same as you, running the litetouch.vbs or PXE booting to run the task sequence.

 

I'd recommend looking at some sort of remote scripting tool/RMM. This would at least allow you to run the litetouch.vbs on many machines at once.

The MDT addon allows you to run an "applications only" task sequence against live machines. It even allows you to pick either a single or multiple applications from your available MDT installs to run.
