nicholab Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 How do I get a HP DL 380 Gen9 Bios update? Some idiot at HP has stopped you being able to easily download them from the website why have these people never had to do a job.
Aprice Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 I think the G9s were in the era where HP decided you need a support contract to access anything. Very helpful!
nicholab Posted October 24, 2024 Author Posted October 24, 2024 (edited) Who is the CEO of HP and how do you complain to get them unlocked? Why the manage at this companies such so numpty and still in a job? Edited October 24, 2024 by nicholab
Olliedawg Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 It's not as easy as it should be... i had the same problem trying to get firmware for our 5406ZL. You need to register on HPE Networking | Enterprise , which will then allow you to search for firmware/software updates
Davit2005 Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 Sometimes you even have to phone them up or log a case to be able to download software. Happened when I needed to download firmware for some Aruba CX switches. I can't fault the Aruba/HPE tech in most cases but their support and website leave a lot to be desired. I won't touch a 2nd hand HP server for home lab use, Dell do a much better job in my experience on the server side of things.
nicholab Posted October 24, 2024 Author Posted October 24, 2024 I am trying to work out how I e-mail the top people to complain https://www.hpe.com/uk/en/leadership.html
nicholab Posted October 24, 2024 Author Posted October 24, 2024 (edited) HP technical was useless and would not send me the software. I am not sure how you get one to be reasonable and bend the rules and send it to you. All the HPE support technical all seem jobs worth prepared to do the right thing and help customers by telling the CEO to buck his ideas up or providing you with the firmware. HP seems very poorly setup as the technician said that they were not allowed to speak directly to the CEO. There are different team who design and implement these policies and we don't have the authority to speak on this directly to CEO, however what best we can do it take your feedback and share with the concerned team, alternately you can write email to customer recover team and involve you accounts manager if required. Because as per policy the server should have active warranty/contract to download the firmware's. Edited October 24, 2024 by nicholab
