Hello,

We have been using BT Cloud Voice with Yealink T46U phones for a while. One thing that always bothered me is how pick-up groups work. They work, in as much as someone in a pick-up group can answer the telephone of a colleague in the same pick-up group but there is a lot that could be improved. I wonder if anyone else had worked out a way to get the CLI passed when a call is 'picked-up'?

We have an office, it has 5 people and 5 phones in it, each with their own extension number. Each person can dial *98 to pick up any other phone within that office but when they do, it just shows *98 on their phone, not the callers name or number.

To put it another way, a call comes in to extension 101. The Yealink phone associated with that extension shows the callers name or number. As the user at extension 101 is away from their desk, the user at extension 102 dials *98 to pick up the call but the person at 102 never sees the name or number of who is calling, neither before they pick up the call or during the call.

In reality, most calls come in to 101, with 102, 103, 104 etc. only really using the pick-up group to pick up calls to 101. In an ideal world, when someone calls 101, 101 should audibly ring but 102, 103, 104 etc. should be able to see who is calling 101 and decide to pick it up or not. We could set up a hunt group with 101 as the number and set it to ring all the phones but I think that would actually ring the phones and that would be noisy! I haven't spotted an option to change the type of ring (e.g silent for calls to 101).

Anyone have any ideas or tips?

Create the hunt group and turn the ring volume down on the handsets?

The problem is that the other phones still need to receive calls directly too. If I could turn down the ring volume just for calls to a certain hunt group, that would work, but I don't think I can do that, can I?

We have a hunt group for our office, the handset volume is set at a point where we can hear our phones ring if someone calls one person, but it's not overly loud when all handsets ring.

Not familiar with the options in this product but could you not do an overflow on the extension instead? Set it so calls ring 101 for 4 seconds and then overflow to a ring group that is all the ones you need to ring so no pickup needed just wait for it to overflow and as its overflowed it is more likely to show the details on all phones?
