Trouble Viewing Twitter/X.com In Browsers

Morning all,

 

We're having issues getting onto Twitter/X.com through a web browser. It's been like this for a while in honesty, just had no time to look into it. When we go to the website, we get the screenshot attached. Affects all main browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) and even in incognito/private browsing.

 

 

Quick google, I've disabled all browser extensions (not that there are any particularly), turned off tracking prevention, disabled auto proxy settings and made sure that java script is enabled. But still having the same issue.

 

Anyone else had similar? Weirdly it works at one of our schools, but not at the other.

Filtering issue?

Possibly something in a network filter blocking an ad domain? I suspect ol Melon Husk is trying to wring the last vestiges of ad revenue out of X.

I'd also look to see if you are using different DNS servers (yes, it could be DNS). Sometimes different servers get you different GeoIP results which might confuse some dreadful security measure into thinking you are a wrong un.

Don't think it's a filtering issue, we replaced the filters in the summer but we had the same issue before. We've been in frequent contact with our filter support (who are excellent) and we can't find any issue with it there.

I use twitter every day as I post all the sch stuff - never seen that error, ever and use Chrome and Edge so I would lean towards either a extension you have enabled or something to do with your filtering? Easy way to find out would be to take the device and connect it to a hotspot/4g router and see if you get the same error - I suspect not.

right click those blocked urls and open in new tab, see what the error is

Connection reset smells like packet filtering to me

100% filtering there, you will have an abundance of twimg entries blocked. I would imagine thats the same as a non inspected silent drop.
