ieuan99 Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Our school is currently using MyConcern for safeguarding reporting, we are looking at a new MIS which might include a safeguarding module and our DSP has asked how we would take all of data from MyConcern and transfer it over to- I can’t find any information about migration online
PotNoodleTech Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 You'd probably be better off asking the MIS company you are considering as I would consider myconcern migration as part of the MIS upgrade project (not a seperate thing to worry about).
pete Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 ^ That approach $Potential_MIS provider and ask them migration steps. Then double-check those steps with a friendly school to see if they're valid/still accurate/actually work. I haven't had to contact MyConcern since TES took them over, but as part of our adoption (years ago) we asked about data migration away (we always ask, it upsets a few salespeople) and the contract termination section (6b, from my notes - your contract may be different) contains provisions for handing back customer data in an accessible format.
smc19 Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 We are in the same situation in moving away from MyConcern and using our MIS to handle safeguarding concerns. How did you get on with migrating the data in the end?
Oaktech Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 We moved to a new MIS that has a safeguarding module but it was found very quickly that the safeguarding module... Did not fulfill our needs... And the migration was cancelled and we are still using MyConcern 5 years later. Be *very* sure that what you are buying into fulfills your requirements. 1
ieuan99 Posted February 13, 2025 Author Posted February 13, 2025 Thanks for this - we're currently going through procurement of the new system so don't know who it will be - am interested to hear which MIS's offers didn't compare to MyConcern?
smc19 Posted March 3, 2025 Posted March 3, 2025 Thanks. We are confident that the safeguarding module of the MIS delivers what is required, but migrating from MyConcern is proving to be a nightmare, they are making things very difficult, just getting hold of the data is a challenge.

Hi @smc19 , I am interested to hear how you have progressed with migrating from My Concern. Have you successfully migrated yet?
