Adobe Creative Cloud - AppData Issues

Hello!

 

One of my Adobe issues were sorted by the wonderful users of EduGeek so I am wondering if you can help again!

 

We have hard quotas on our students where they have a set amount of storage on their account, and this gets full quickly because of Adobe's appdata on their mapped drive filling up quickly.

We don't want to necessarily map this to the C drive, because eventually that will fill up with appdata too so we will be hit with the same problem.

 

Is there anything we can do to contain this or get around it?

Don't redirect Appdata, make sure profiles get cleared out on log off/restart and problem solved

It’s well documented that Adobe hates redirected app data. If you go down that route you’ll have nothing but trouble with Adobe apps. With shared devices that are used with Adobe, minimum SSD should be 256GB, 512GB ideally. Create a scheduled task to periodically delete user profiles.

Just be aware that adobe apps store random stuff in appdata required such as for example parts of websites/saved projects in dreamweaver so if you clear out profiles regularly you will probably be clearing out pupils work too, in certain circumstances.

 

512GB drives and not redirecting have been the solution here. It's not ideal though. At some point they're gonna fill up and now MS have totally broken delprof it becomes an annoyance.

We're looking into possibly setting them to the C Drive or have them cleared on a regular basis.

Ah no. What’s MS broken with delprof? I think you can use Storagesense instead.
