Windows 11 SE

Hi all,

 

Is anyone using Windows 11SE at scale and if so which devices are you using.

 

We have a requirement for a new class set of devices to be used mainly with a browser and office, though I suspect teachers will want other apps at a later date. I know that the APPs allowed with 11SE are restricted which might present a problem.

 

Is 11SE even still a thing .....

We've a few Acer laptops on Windows 11 SE under Intune. The "apps" on the device are all webview wrapped, especially Office, so not native Windows versions of applications - much like the "new" Outlook. Not come across any issues so far, but colleagues are aware they operate much like a Windows Chromebook. Performance is pretty ... poor though.

Can you even buy them now?

 

One of the schools I work for tried to buy 200 in June and then at the very last minute were told in July - Sorry no longer available!!!

Might be the case? Microsoft updated its WIndows 11 SE page on 01/09/2024 so ... might still be available? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/education/windows/windows-11-se-overview
