Deploying BGinfo

Afternoon all,

 

I have decided to deploy BGinfo to the desktops at the school I have taken over, but cant get it to run.

 

The steps I have taken,

 

Created folder on \\servername\SYSVOL\domainname\scripts\BGinfo in this folder I have the BGinfo.exe and the bgi configure file.

 

I have created a batch file to run both files with the switches /silent /timer:0

 

I have pushed this out as a startup script via Group Policy as a User Logon script

 

This doesn't run the batch file and wonder if I have missed a set

 

Any advice is much appreciated.

Our BGInfo command is:

\\server\share\BGInfo.exe \\server\share\Desktop_Staff.bgi /timer:0 /silent /nolicprompt 

 

But we run this from a VBS called from the Shell Startup folder. I've always had better results calling BGInfo as late as possible during login.

 

Edit: Also, worth making sure your end users have read permission on the share.
