The primary school I'm at has had iPads for a while but they are not connected to any printers mainly as the thought of letting pupils print at will is too much to bare so I've been wondering if Papercut might be the answer.

Would Papercut allow iPads to print and hold any jobs until released by staff?

Could iPads be configured to use Papercut using Moslye as the MDM?

As money is tight would Papercut NG cover this?

Thanks.

Papercut Mobility will do what you need.

Note: the iPads, printers and the print server need to be in the same subnet for it to work (assuming you’re on a flat network. However, you can use firewall rules to route your traffic appropriately if you have VLANS and this will work without much of an issue.

We've used mobility print successfully for nearly two years. Be aware it doesn't do print release if that's something you need. Also, you do need an on-site print server.

I'm currently trialling Papercut Pocket; fully cloud based, print release - but not free. Testing looks good at the minute.

Thanks both. It's the release prints option that we really need and just watched a couple of videos about Papercut Mobility and don't think print release is included.

If you require release then you will need PaperCut, if you just want to print Mobility Print will publish the printers and allow you to do it.

If you have copiers then if you use with PaperCut MF you can release jobs on the copiers.
