Vericool SwiftQ

Morning everyone,

 

I just wanted to reach out to see if anyone is using the SwiftQ system from Vericool? We are currently reviewing this as an option. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with it?

We had a great experience at the first school that we moved across to the platform. School was very pleased and reliability much better than the CRB system it replaced.

 

Second school didn’t go so well, constant up and down in terms of reliability. The support team haven’t been too bad in responding but we still haven’t figured out the issue 9 months in. Ended up having to move back on premise which is not what we wanted. Have a meeting later this week to see about it going back to the cloud….

 

The suggestion is that it’s something specific to this school but I can’t see how when both schools have identical firewalls. Internet lines are gig leased lines with 200 meg backup lease lines. Cisco meraki across the school… so go figure!

We transitioned from on prem vericool, to the SwiftQ hosted solution. No issues at all really. Support are generally quick to get back to you

We moved to it last summer and it's been much more reliable then their on-prem version (which was still reliable compared to Cunninghams). It's still lacking in a few features and the website is very basic but once it's setup there shouldn't be much to change.

Can I ask which Payment provider you are using alongside Vericool? How do these integrate and how well do they integrate? Any incompatibilities?

We use ParentPay (have done for ages..) ParentPay works fairly well. We've only had one or two issues in the past with balances not matching between Vericool & ParentPay. However this has not happened since moving to SwiftQ

 

We are looking to move to Bromcom's payment system in the future

Thanks Olliedawg. What is used to sync the balance updates between the two systems? Is it a direct API between Vericool and ParentPay or is there some middleware used between the two i.e. Pebble TRAC or Wonde or something similar?

I believe it is direct between PP & Vericool for payments. If i still had our old onprem vericool VM I could have checked for you

 

We have a Wonde connection for Vericool, purely for pulling staff/student records through from the MIS

Sorry to start this old thread again, I though you are best place to provide feedback as have been using the system already

We are looking into Vericool to relace our cashless system, please provide feedback on how you fond the system and how reliable it is. Especially around managing FSM and allergens at teh till

Just out of curiosity, if you use Vericool what badge printing software are you using and are you using MiFare cards for the student printing side of things?
