Each year I get asked the same question - do we have to create new Teams? As the teachers then have to copy anything across from the Archived Teams/OneNote if they want to use the same material for the following year.

Do others just create new and expect others to move the content?

Guess that depends which Teams you're referring to.

Subject/Department teams don't get removed, so they store teaching content etc in them.

Individual Classes etc get archived (If they want to then manually unarchive one to move items across they can)

Should be clearer. Mainly talking about Primary schools here so we do not have Subject/Department. These are the class Teams that Teachers use for planning but very little goes into the pupil sections.

If you do not remove them, does SDS update with new members or do you have to do that manually

In our Primaries we don't use SDS - We have "Year 1/2/3" groups etc setup manually that we rename per year as the class increases as it's normally the same teacher that stays with them and it's the same students in the classes. Not really sure there's much benefit with the SDS side of things would be for small classes like that

That is what I am thinking, and we do that in some of our schools already that have mixed classes.

One for the Exec team to discuss I think

We leave last year's Teams in place, and create new. Up to the teacher if they want to use the last Team (as it's no longer synced, it keeps the pupils in place). Works well with the two year cycle of GCSEs and A-Levels.
