Windows 11 conecting to internet says "action needed"

Anybody else have the issue with Windows 11 device on domain and has the policy applied to the school network it asks action needed then when you click yes it will connect is there any way of getting rid of this so you can just connect to the network like a normal windows 10 device which doesn't have this issue

Automate Wi-Fi Connection via Group Policy:

 

• Open the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) on your domain controller.
  
• Navigate to Computer Configuration > Policies > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Wireless Network (IEEE 802.11) Policies.
  
• Create a new policy or edit an existing one.
  
• In the Preferred Networks tab, add the school's Wi-Fi network and configure it to connect automatically.

We have tried this it still doesn't work

We found that with W11 (and im going back to when it first came out) in our policy we specified our radius servers in this setting Connect to these servers (and it wasn't untill we listed them the exact same as the name on their certificate they auto connected) so we had servername.domain.lan where as the cert was SERVERNAME.domain.lan once we added that it just worked...

Computer Configuration > Policies > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Wireless Network (IEEE 802.11) Policies. (our Policy) > Preferred Network Profiles > (our Profile0 > ieee 802.1x settings > network Authentication Method Porperties > Connect to these servers

 

we dont specify that at all now in our new EAP-TLS policy and win 11 connect fine

I haven't encountered this exact issue with Windows 11 on a domain, but it sounds frustrating. Have you checked with your IT admin or network settings to see if there's a specific policy causing this? Sometimes tweaking network policies or updating drivers could help smooth out these connectivity issues.

I think its still something to do how it was configured on polices on the server I am an It apprentice just for your information

Have not looked into the issue myself but just throwing an idea out there. I have also seen this error when connecting to my hotspot on my personal laptop. You could take the device off the domain and see if the problem remains when it does not have any GPO's assigned to it.

 

Like I said I have not researched anything myself but felt like an issue with W11 not liking something down the line.
