johbreaking Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 Bit of a head scratcher and not getting anywhere on the Aruba forums. Yesterday morning we were doing some maintenance work in a cabinet and we had to unplug the Aruba 515 from the PoE switch. After plugging the AP back in I just get a solid red light. I have tried resetting the AP still get the same, I have this morning plugged it in using a POE injector (genuine one) and still get the red light, used brand new patch cables as well and still cannot get the red light to shift. Anyone seen this before?
OLdMan99 Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 Had similar , turned out to be the injector. Can you ssh into it ? does it appear on your controller ?
synaesthesia Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 Is it still actually working? From memory, that's underpower condition and generally still works, but shows the PoE injector or switch isn't providing enough juice or the cable is bad.

Anyone seen this before? Did it get plugged into the same port it was originally in? Can you check the vlan config on the switch port to make sure it is correct vlan for the AP? As others have said also check the switch that it is giving enough power to the AP and yep they can defo work even without a green light but could indicate under powered PoE. biggjb Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 Take down the AP and plug in directly to the Switch and one that has a POE port. If still red then its a fault
