Lesson Monitor?

Am I the only mug that’s working in the holidays?

 

Basically we have just ordered Lesson monitor and they said they will send out the licence keys in the post to activate it from within sims. However I notice some schools don’t have sims installed on every teachers laptop and they just use a module/program to talk to the sims database. Is this true?

 

Just don’t fancy installing Sims on every laptop if I can get away with just installing lesson monitor.

As far as I know you will need to install SIMS on every laptop/PC that will use Lesson Monitor.. Especially now that LM is part of SIMS in the form of "Take Register"

To use Lesson Monitor you must have Sims.net installed. Lesson Monitor v6 is a standalone application however this to be unsupported and removed as from December.

 

All staff should use the familiar, more friendly UI of .NET by doubling clicking on time line of class OR Focus --> Lesson Monitor.

The lesson monitor licence is in the form of a patch you will apply to your SIMS database. You could use the SIMS webparts to get access to lesson monitor without having to install SIMS on all PC's but there is extra finances needed to purchase this also. Edited July 30, 2008 by Sylv3r

Yes - the webparts can be used through the Sharepoint portal.
