Smartboard MX065 V1-V4 Connection issues

Hi All,

 

We have been having endless issues with our smart MX065 boards. They range from Version 1 - 4. Teachers can be working away then suddenly the board shows as "waiting for connection" We can fix the issues by powering off the board / Plug the HDMI directly in to the laptop and not through our HP G2 docking stations. ( As you can imagine its very frustrating for the teachers) We also have SPNL-6065 V2 which never have any problems.

 

Is anyone else experiencing similar issues? We have submitted multiple logs to SMART but still no joy.

Might be having similar issues with some newly installed Clevertouch 75" IMPACT displays. Very hit and miss what works and what does not, it does seem to be down to 4K and possibly latest standards of HDMI.

 

Anybody else in similar boat? Installers are being very helpful, but I'm interested to know more about this.

We had this issue in my last school. It turned out to be the type of HDMI cable that was installed with the SmartBoards.

 

They were installed with HDMI 1.4 cables. These don't work too well with 4k screens over any length longer that a meter or two.

 

The installation company had to come out and change them over to HDMI 2.0 or HDMI 2.1 (can't remember what they changed them too). No issues after that.
