The_Watcher5292 Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 Hi everyone, I'm reaching out for some assistance with an issue we're facing with the iPads at our school. Here's a breakdown of the problem: Devices: iPad 8th generation (MYL92B/A) Management: Dual-managed with Apple School Manager and Meraki OS: iOS 14.2 Issue: Video recording abruptly stops after a second, regardless of the app (native camera or OneDrive). We suspect the cache might be overflowing. We've tried: Recording with different apps (no improvement) Erasing the device from Meraki and starting over (no improvment) Forcing an OS update via Meraki (Never gets picked up by the iPad) Our request: If anyone has encountered a similar issue or has any insights on how to resolve this recording problem, we'd greatly appreciate your help. Thanks in advance for your time and support!
PotNoodleTech Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 it almost sounds like there is a setting in meraki that's set to "stop video from recording" and it takes 1 second for meraki to action it on the ipad? I'd go through your meraki settings to check there's no video blocking enabled.

Hi, all camera related settings are already set to allowed, I also had a look at the other settings and as far as i can tell, no other settings should be blocking it at all

Thanks in advance for your time and support! We have a couple of class sets of iPad 8th generation (MYL92B/A), but they are on Version iPadOS 17.3.1. They never update when sent the command from Meraki, they also have the Auto-Update toggled on in the settings, but very rarely actually do (I usually have to go round each half-term and manually initiate the update - we even have a Mac-Mini acting as a caching server). At least try one manual check for updates and let that install. When you say 'Dual-managed with Apple School Manager and Meraki' you just mean they exist in ASM and that's where you purchase apps etc. There's no actual iPad management done from there? Or do you use some sort of shared iPad structure. AFAIK this will split the iPad storage into small partitions that might mean there isn't much room left for video (depending on the quality settings)...

Hi, as far as I know, its just the app purchasing, so yeah they exist in ASM but no management done from there
