Morning All,

Is anyone having issues with YouTube videos? We are getting multiple reports of anything from Harry Potter, Jaws advert, Pearl Harbor. We are a Windows school using Smoothwall but wondering if someone has changed settings somewhere down the line.

Not quite as we don't have cloud filtering installed.

We are getting a message 'The video is restricted. Please check the Google Workspace Administrator and/or the network administrator restrictions.

Those are normally caused either by Youtube strict or moderate filtering which can be imposed by Youtube using the Google admin console or by content modification policies in Smoothwall. Try to remove the content modifications for strict and/or moderate mode if they are being applied.

I teacher had this issue, this morning. What worked was use Chrome, sign into Google, then open YouTube.

Yes, without a login, Youtube assumes you are a minor and strict filter is in use by default I think.

But I have just tried accessing these videos from a device not on the domain or Smoothwall filtering and work fine. They also had no Google account linked to YouTube. Looking at Smoothwall settings again.
