Is this a power point issue or smart TV issue?

Teacher keeps having issues with the smart TV switching off when she changes her powerpoint.

 

Whenever I drive over the issue doesn't seem to happen, so I cant even investigate the laptop or TV.

 

She is using a Smart TV and she has Office 2021 installed.

 

She is getting rather annoyed now.

Any ideas?

Its it a SmartTech interactive panel? We had a similar issue wher ethe screens would turn off when they stopped receiving an input signal. had to update firmware to get the option to stop that behaviour.

Ours were GX and GXv2. We had to do a USB firmware update initially as over the air wasn't an option in the firmware.

I applied the group policies and for the most part it's fine, but I'm out of patience with it now so any "persistent offenders" get an HDMI splitter to duplicate the big screen and little monitor. Appreciate that's not really an option if there's a laptop involved there.

Try replicating it by launching the PPT full screen and then switch the screen on. I bet you lose the second screen when coming out of slide show.

 

Do the same but don't go full screen and the screen will stay on when coming out of slide show.

Just remembered, I recently took a photo of the firmware version screen. Unfortunately its on the latest version.

Try switching presenter view off, then running the presentation....

Interesting - we had a teacher complaining her projector screen went off when using PowerPoint. Haven’t been able to replicate yet.

Powerpoint is doing some weird random stuff lately.

 

Yet to get to the bottom of any of it but presenter mode does seem to make it more buggy.
