Co-Pilot / Copilot Smoothwall Websockets filtering

Staff are asking to use it but Smoothwall seems to be breaking the WebSocket connections so it just says please wait and then times out

 

Smoothwall seem to say just don't inspect it

Options seem to be

Disable inspection for some groups on Bing

Chase subdomains and disable inspection on them

I would recommend switching to the Smoothwall Cloud Filter.

Then you avoid many problems like this.

I got it working by excluding sydney.bing.com from inspection

Feel this is something we should be inspecting though which is impossible afaik with websockets

Does anyone have any updates on this. We are using Sophos and excluding sydney.bing.com does work and enable the feature - but unsure on the implications of this.
