Live safeguarding monitoring - Smoothwall monitor, Lightspeed alert, what others?

Morning all,

 

I hope everyone's ok and didn't get blown away overnight.

As a trust we are currently looking at live safeguarding monitoring systems.

We've currently had a demo and a quote from Smoothwall Monitor and we are planning to take a look at Lightspeed alert also.

What other solutions are around please?

 

Any feedback on any of them would be appreciated.

We use NetSupport DNA (previously had smoothwall) at one of my two schools. Seems to still work reliably and reports well despite a few Mac setup issues.

Hi, We use Classroom Cloud from NetSupport here. Works with chromebooks and other devices, provides real time alerts and screenshots/videos depending on severity. Lots of false positives with it (rather false than missed...) but works well for our primary school.

Thanks for your replies, I will take a look at the products mentioned but I am looking mainly at solutions that use AI/Humans to live monitor and weed out false positives etc.

NetSupport basically sends alerts to your chosen admins / safeguarding team depending on severity.

 

They then log in via phone/tablet app or via the web where they can address it and mark it as false positive etc

 

Anything urgent (terrorism / radicalisation / grooming) can be set to fire out to the safeguarding team aswell.

 

Our admins do a login every couple of days to clear the less serious entries that wouldn't have alerted.

Securus FMS is another big player (works the same a Smoothwall Monitor) all captures are vetted by a human team and high priorities are emailed to the DSL contacts (with very high priorities getting a phone call).

 

We've been using Smoothwall Monitor since pretty much when it first came out (back when it was still called Visigo). For the most part it's been setup and forget, and seems to work fine.

Securus is amazing for us and they offer great value for money. I think they do free trials too

Beware of solutions that only look at web searches, or whose risk categories don't cover KCSIE and PREVENT. I don't think that's true of anything suggested here, but there are a handful of products that really dont give great visibility.

Would anyone happen to know if Securus supports detction of key phrases or words in languages other than English?

If not, which competitors do this?
