Programming and programs at School options?

Hi all,

 

Hope you are well.

 

My school needs to do more with programming, networking next year, they use Unity, Python and many others. How do you ensure that the student can do all the programming, testing that they need, but keeping the school network safe?

 

Part of me likes the idea of a separate virtual environment for this work to be done, but not sure on the work/logistics of it?

I think virutal machines and locking down certain things seems to be a good option.

We use VirtualBox with locally stored VMs. The VMs have immutable hard drives and no network access, with VirtualBox options locked down for end users.
