Morning,

 

A little background, we have a side gate that the 6th formers use to come and go, we want to control that a little more with a kind of turn style, one in one out system to prevent tailgating mainly. Does any body have any recommendations on a solution for this?

We use Net2 with ID manager at present and the 6th formers use finger print

Yep,

 

I'd stick with Net2 if you have an existing fingerprint solution that works with it great. Otherwise there are some anti-pass back features to stop kids passing back cards to let others in built into Net2.

What sort of money do those tend to come in at?

Believe you'd be looking at around the £3k sort of mark before install. (That's just for the turnstile)

Granted we haven't quoted on one of these for a few years.

We have four turnstiles and they don't prevent tailgating; the kids pass their bags over/around then squeeze in two-at-a-time.

Hehe, I actually grabbed a live snapshot from our CCTV then when I went to save it, I noticed I already had a saved copy so I abandoned my snapshot.

 

Yes, this photo was on staff training day in the September; the fences arrived a few days later!

We have similar turnstiles here.

 

There is anti-passback support in Net2, but if the student doesn't make it through the turnstile before it resets, then they wont be able to get in.

 

The only effective way is to have someone monitor it, or get them RFID chipped like you can with pets.
