So where in the market for a couple additional Benq touchscreens and our supplier has quoted RE6503 panels.

My concern is we have previously purchased the RM6503 which I'm being told are now longer available.

The panels are really cheap in comparison to the RM and I'm wondering if I should be concerned regarding features and quality?

Anyone had RE panels installed?

Yup! This year like you we have had to buy RE6503's as the RM5403 as EOL.

Can't honestly say i've noticed a difference! For the price they're pretty damn good. One issue we've had with the RE model's though, if we plug in something that uses the USB for power, it kills the other display inputs. Other than that, they're great boards.

That's good to hear, is the sound about the same as Iv'e noticed the RE doesn't have the soumdbar?

Can I also ask how much you have been paying inc installation, if you don't mind?

We recently had the same situation regarding the mid ranged being removed (apparently it’s coming back later this year with a version of OS etc so depending on when you’re looking might not need to check)

Haven't really noticed an issue with the sound, its perfectly fine for a standard classroom.

Ahhh, I've just noticed we have the bigger RE7503 and we paid about £2100 (ex VAT)

That's good to hear I think I'll just get them ordered, they seem to tick all the boxes.

I think Benq will struggle to sell the RM on the back of this.

For reference our supplier has quoted £1900 + vat supplied and fitted inc wallplate & cables etc but I'm sure area etc plays a big part in pricing.

I'd say that's expensive (as if they're taking RRP pricing not educational)

These are the kind of weekly emails we get from suppliers about those models (NS Optimum in this case):

We have the New BENQ RE6503 65” 4K Interactive LED Screen – Including Heavy Duty Wall Mount– Just £1,499.00 - FULLY INSTALLED! (Discounted To £1,399.00 on 5+ Panels!)

BenQ Interactive Screens Bundle includes:

• 65 x BENQ 4K UHD Interactive LED screen

• 3M full cable kit with metal faceplate installed by teachers desk (installed in trunking)

• FREE Heavy Duty Wall Mount (for solid walls – other options available)

• FREE De-Installation of an Existing Classroom LED Screen

Sorry we are referring to the 75" model and we pay around the same as the NS Optimum figures quoted for 65".

We also get the same engineers each time who do an excellent job and are very trustworthy.

I don't like random engineers turning up that in most cases have been subcontracted in and just want to get done and get home.

We've liked our BenQ screens, though we've found a couple of niggles/issues with them thus far:

- One TV (RE7503) will randomly lose the HDMI audio, even though it's still displaying through the same cable (disconnecting and reconnecting the cable will resolve the issue)

- If you're using VGA as an input source, but the TV is currently on another input mode - the VGA input doesn't highlight automatically to show an active input in the input selection menu, unlike HDMI

- One TV (RM7503) got stuck and I couldn't restart it. Green power button was lit, but panel was off. The physical buttons on the TV and the remote were not responding. Turning the power off on the wall didn't cause the green light to turn off, even after 30 seconds. Due to a class being in the room at the time, I turned it back on at the wall and the TV came back to life. This was a one time only thing, so I'm hoping it doesn't happen again.

We have issue with Google, when trying to sign in manually we are getting an error (screenshot attach) of BenQ IAM's request does not comply with Google's 'Use secure browsers' policy.

That’s expensive. The screens are sub £1k which means you’re paying £900 for install each?
