Windows 11 & Teams (or is it Chat, Classic Teams, work or school or New Teams???)

Basically, have a Windows 11 22H2 Laptop which I thought I could just configure using existing Intune configurations & application deployment that is in place for our existing Windows 10 desktops and laptops.

On the whole it worked, with the exception of Microsoft Teams!

Attempted alternative installation options:

  • I cannot deploy Microsoft Teams (win32) via Microsoft Store App (new) as 'the selected app does not have a valid latest package version'.
  • I've thought about downloading the 'Microsoft Teams (work or school)' .msix file and packaging it up as a 'Windows Universal line-of-business app' but I don't like mixing 'lob' with 'win32' due to known deployment issues etc.
  • I haven't tried winget, although a quick search lists 'Microsoft Teams' and a further 3 variants (and not sure if this would be New Teams )

I was just assuming that as we configure Office 365 to deploy with Teams included etc it would just work, like it does for Windows 10 but seems not.

Any suggestions would be appreciated (alternative is to rebuild with Windows 10 and add this issue to Windows 11 planning!)

Thanks,

The TL'DR question is, for those who are using Windows 11 what version of Teams are you using? (e.g. Chat, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Teams (work or school) or New Teams) and how did you deploy it?

All Windows 11 here. Teams for work and school, deployed via Software Center using machine wide installer. Trialling New Teams which is good, although MS haven’t updated their machine wide installer yet.

Where did you source the Microsoft Teams (work or school) machine-wide installer from? The links I've tried end up being the New Teams installation.

Thanks.
