Apple Configurator - An Error occurred

Hello.

 

Got a weird issue with Apple Config,

 

I get a error when trying to download any apps the iPads about "You may need to visit the Mac Store to view changes to your account".

 

I open the Mac store and nothing appears to be wrong.

 

Any ideas?

On July 27, 2023, Apple will post an updated version of the Volume Content Terms to Apple School Manager. Once posted, your organization will not be able to enroll devices or deploy new apps until an Administrator signs in to Apple School Manager and accepts the agreement.

I'm having the same issue at one of my schools... I have agreed to the new terms in ASM so cannot figure out what's wrong???

Do you use another MDM as well as AC2? I'm not 100% certain but my issues could tie to signing up for Addigy.

Nope. Just AC2.

 

I can't see anything blocking or stopping it working.

There's a bug in 2.16 if you updated to that recently?

 

Upgrading to macOS Sonoma beta 14.1 fixes it apparently (or restoring via timemachine etc back to 2.15 if you have that option?)

Annoying - Thats the first thing i do when i got issues is to apply any updates!

 

 

I will see if i can upgrade to the beta release. (I haven't got time machine setup as its only doing AC2)

Not fixed AC2 error, but have a workaround by using the Apple Configurator App on an iPhone/iPad instead of on a Mac

Official "soon" response from Apple helpful as is!

 

On a Mac with macOS Sonoma installed, Apple Configurator will fail to add apps from the App Store to iPhones and iPads.

 

If you use Apple Configurator to add apps from the App Store to devices, continue to use a Mac with macOS Ventura or earlier installed.

 

This issue will be resolved through a future update to Apple Configurator and macOS Sonoma.

Ours fixed itself few weeks back, unsure if it's to do with the macOS Update

I had a similar issue a while ago, and there's one trick that helped me. You can also check it out. So, if you're managing iPads for an organization or using parental controls, check if there are any restrictions in place that might prevent app downloads. These restrictions can be found in System Preferences under "Parental Controls" or "Screen Time."

This isn't for Apps to push out this is for applying Intune profiles for onboarding.

 

This is our onboarding process:

 

iPad/iPhone is wiped, onboarded to ABM and profile for intune applied all via AC2.

 

Once steps are done, add phone to relevant Intune group and it then applies apps via Intune (synced with VPP), config etc also applied.

 

Edit: Also going to say this, because if i don't it will bug me. That kind of tone isn't acceptable. People come to this forum to ask for help. They are not all experts in every field. They don't want to be greeted by someone making them sound like they know F all. Pretty sure if you asked for help about something you didn't know and got a patronising response you would like it!
