Fusion 360 - Students not being redirected to browser to sign in

I'm currently wrestling with installing the latest version of Autodesk Fusion 360 on a set of 20 DT machines (Win 10). The previous version rocked along quite nicely all of last year before Autodesk made a change to the sign in process that forces you into a browser to sign in. Students can run the software up ok but just don't get thrown to a browser to sign in. I've tried tweaking default browser to Chrome from Edge via GPO on advice from Autodesk but that didn't seem to help. Multiple resets, repairs and reinstalls and still no luck. The number of posts on Autodesk forums around this makes me think it just doesn't play nicely in a school environment.

Hoping somebody else has had more luck than me :D

Hi JBlue,

Did you have any success with this? It seems to work if I log on as a local administrator but that's it. I've tried the same as you, changing default brwoser but no joy.

Nope, still struggling unfortunately! I've managed to placate the DT staff for the moment by moving them across to the browser version of Fusion 360 though. Combing through a couple of the log files I came across an 'Access Denied' error with the 'SSOServerProcess' so it must be a permissions thing. Seems like the only fix would be upping student privileges but I'd rather avoid that :D

We're experiencing exactly the same issue here. Updated to the latest version of F360 the other day, and ever since we've been experiencing this.

I was attempting to uninstall F360 (we use PDQ Deploy here) but it's not even uninstalling properly. This software is a real PITA.

Delete c:\program files\AutoDesk and c:\ProgramData\AutoDesk then re-install Fusion 360. Launch Fusion 360 as an admin and click the 'sign-in' button to launch the browser window, you don't need to login. When a non-admin user then logs in it then seems to work until you need to install from scratch. Avoid putting the Autodesk Identity Manager software on, it seems to cause the issue to reappear after an upgrade, seems to work well enough without it.

Just to revive this thread - we've had success by creating an applocker rule to allow MS Webview2 to run, heres the path:

%PROGRAMFILES%\MICROSOFT\EDGEWEBVIEW\APPLICATION\*\MSEDGEWEBVIEW2.EXE

Once this was allowed the redirect works to Chrome perfectly fine.
