Google Reviews

So it was brought to my attention that no new reviews were appearing on a schools Business profile. So contacted google and had this response:

 

"I understand your concern that users are not able to leave reviews on your business profile. I would like to inform you that any business in the United Kingdom that falls under the category of education institutions is not eligible to get reviews. However, there are certain scenarios where the reviews are allowed to be visible on the business profile."

 

But this blatantly hasn't always been the case as there are reviews. Only a few, but enough to get a low star rating.

 

Have tried to ask google to remove them (would seem fair as there is no way to counter them with positive reviews) and they currently say they can only do it if they violate review policy.

 

Any one else had this ?

I would be most interested in the attitude of anyone involved in marketing - dirty word in education, I know! - their school.

I completely get the 'prison camp' analogy - and we have seen far worse. I am concerned that Google and schools are closing off the best marketing route known to man (and schools!).
