Was thinking about writing an all staff email titled - How to get help.

Would be something along the lines of:

Email us at .....

Phone us at ...

Does anyone do something like this every year.

Does anyone have like a template or something I can steal.

We don't seem to have a welcome pack or similar with any information about ICT support.

That information is part of our staff handbook. Our helpdesk address is in the global directory, too, but I do occasionally have to sent a friendly reminder to not send request emails directly to all the individuals in our team. One has to pick the timing of that very carefully though, so as not to appear totally passive aggressive.

I have "Having problems, check out our helpsheets or contact us through the support site." (with links) in my internal email signature.

And we do have the occasional "don't forget to log jobs on the support site rather than just emailing one tech" reminders, but I normally put them out through either the SBM or SLT IT lead.

Put all the details in the Staff Handbook if it isn't already. Reiterate the use of the helpdesk in the email also. We also made some everyday IT tips to distribute to help new staff troubleshoot something like Windows + P before contacting us so that could be an idea?

Not exactly a template but I've just sent an all-staff e-mail to once again please raise a ticket for all IT requests as they tend to forget this, at our busiest time of the year. I've asked them not to phone us, visit us or stop us in the corridor as we are inevitably working on other issues and it just slows us down.

Always worth reminding them although some still ignore it.

We print a business card for all staff so they keep it with them leave it on their PC etc with our contact helpdesk e-mail and phone number.

We also add the same information to all staff desktop wallpapers.
