IT Cyber Security Engineer – South East London/Kent area - £45K + - Permanent

 

Calling out to all 2nd /3rd Level IT Support candidates who might have grown tired of the ever day / box-standard IT support work and who are looking to take their career in a new direction, complimenting your solid career this far within Infrastructure-and moving into Cyber Security. Ideally you will have a history of working within the Security arena.

 

We are currently working with a community of colleges in South East London/Kent who provide hundreds of courses at a range of levels - to people of all ages- From adult community courses right through to degree level and professional qualifications.

As a Cyber Security Engineer you will assess the current state of the business cyber processes and implement improvements – take ownership of a broad range of IT Systems and provide security related end-user support.

• Design, implement, and maintain effective security systems, policies, and procedures to protect company resources.

• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential weaknesses and address them promptly.

• Monitor network traffic, system logs, and security tools to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security measures for new projects, systems, and applications.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest security technologies, trends, and best practices, and provide recommendations for their adoption.

• Conduct security awareness training programs for employees to enhance their understanding of cybersecurity risks and best practices.

• Perform risk assessments and assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
