Office 365 Backup and Retention

Hi,

 

We currently use Vipre Email security and relying on O365 for backups of emails (I know its not good enough). Vipre do a backup facility which is £4k for us which I really like but we are looking at utilising Microsoft 365 more so I need a backup for that too.

 

I get sales calls from Barracuda regularly and have a trial with them which looks quite good.

 

Does anyone use an all in one solution?

 

On site we use Veeam which is great, I did try and install the Veeam Microsoft backup trial but I didn't have a server free and my existing backup server doesn't meet the requirements.

Currently using Barracuda's Cloud to Cloud backup - cannot fault it, works flawlessly - set and forget system. For the price, its brilliant.

The Barracuda system is great and has a really sensible pricing structure for education (students free).

 

I haven't found anything that beats it yet.

Using Acronis currently, no complaints.

We used this before Barracuda. Have they fixed their pricing structure?

Synology is our go to really for 365 at the moment. Been really happy with it so far.

We use Barracuda too (through Altinet funnily enough!) and it's been great. Easy to set up, easy to recover stuff. Price is excellent given what you get.

 

Only a couple of niggles for us - the process is incremental forever so there isn't an option for a retention policy (at least the last time I asked!). It's meant to be coming though.

Also from a GDPR standpoint, they can't search and delete individual information so if you get a right of erasure request that specifies backups it simply can't be done without deleting everything. No idea if this is the case with other providers or is a non-issue, but thought I'd mention it.

i am also looking at the backup side of office 365 got a quote for https://www.g2.com/products/cloudally-office-365-backup/reviews#survey-response-5411332 which is cost effective against barracuda but i am a long time user of barracuda products.

 

any one else use other providers than barracuda?
